Kathmandu, Dec 31: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of petrol, diesel/kerosene, and aviation fuel.
According to a notice published by NOC on Wednesday evening, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which supplies petro products to Nepal, has lowered the purchase price of petrol by Rs 4.19 per liter, diesel by Rs 5.06 per liter, and aviation fuel by Rs 8.15 per liter. However, IOC has increased the purchase price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 100.35 per cylinder.
In line with these changes, the NOC Board of Directors has adjusted retail prices for Nepali market. Under the revised rates, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs 4 per liter, while diesel/kerosene prices have been reduced by Rs 5 per liter. Domestic aviation fuel prices have been cut by Rs 6 per liter, and for international flights, the price of aviation fuel in Kathmandu has been reduced by USD 42 per kiloliter.
The new prices will come into effect from Thursday morning. Despite the increase in the purchase price of LPG, NOC stated that the retail price of cooking gas has been kept unchanged in the interest of consumers.
According to the corporation, for areas within 15 kilometers of depots or offices, the new petrol prices have been fixed at Rs 156.50 per liter for the first category, Rs 158 per liter for the second category, and Rs 159 per liter for the third category.
Similarly, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been set at Rs 134.50, Rs 136, and Rs 137 per liter for the first, second, and third categories, respectively.
The first category includes Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalubari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. The second category covers Surkhet and Dang, while the third category includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal. #NOC #nepal #petrol #diesel
