Bangkok/Kampong Cham : The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok, concurrently accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia, has organized a Free Eye Treatment Camp on 4–5 July 2026 at the Provincial Hospital in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, in collaboration with the Lumbini Eye Institute and Research Center (Rana-Ambika Eye Hospital, Lumbini) and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangha.
The two-day camp was jointly inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Cambodia, and H.E. Mr. Un Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham Province. The initiative aims to provide free eye screening, treatment, and consultation services to local residents while strengthening Nepal–Cambodia cooperation in the healthcare sector.
Around 1,500 Cambodian nationals are expected to benefit from the camp.

Prior to the inauguration, Ambassador Oli paid a courtesy call on Governor Un Chanda. During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in public health, medical education, healthcare services, capacity building, and the exchange of knowledge and best practices between Nepal and Cambodia.
Governor Un Chanda reaffirmed Kampong Cham Province’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in healthcare and welcomed closer collaboration with Nepal. He expressed confidence that partnerships between provincial institutions and Nepali organizations would create new opportunities for professional exchanges and community-based health initiatives.

Ambassador Oli thanked Governor Un Chanda for his support and leadership in facilitating the successful organization of the camp. He also appreciated the Provincial Hospital in Kampong Cham for its cooperation in hosting the program.
Both sides further agreed to strengthen collaboration through capacity-building initiatives, including professional training and exposure opportunities for Cambodian doctors and medical personnel at the Lumbini Eye Institute and Research Center in Nepal.
The Embassy also expressed its gratitude to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Cambodia, Kampong Cham Chamber of Commerce, Lumbini Eye Institute and Research Center, Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangha, Provincial Hospital Kampong Cham, and all doctors, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and support staff whose contributions made the humanitarian initiative possible. #nepal
