Kathmandu, Sept 17: Nepal played draw with Kuwait in its second match as part of AFC U-16 Championship qualifying underway in Jordan.
Nepal played 1-1 with Kuwait in the Prince Mohammad International Stadium based in Zarqa City of Jordan on Monday.
Striker Dinesh Rai netted first goal in 74th minutes of the game to advance Nepal. Abdullah Alahindi equalized the score in a penalty shootout during the injury time.
With the result, Nepal in Group A has gained one score from two matches. Earlier, Nepal was defeated 7-0 by Jordan. Kuwait has accumulated three scores from two matches.
Nepal is to take on Tajikistan on 20 September. Altogether 48 countries are taking part in the championship in 11 groups. The group winners would be qualified for AFC Championship-2020.
Likewise, four best performing first runner ups would also get opportunity to participate in the final tournament of the championship.
