Nepal Police arrests a group for making fake RT-PCR report

KATHMANDU: A group making fake RT-PCR reports has been arrested. They were arrested by a team of the Nepal Police Metropolitan Crime Investigation Branch on Tuesday evening.

Among the arrested are the operators of Suriya Healthcare Pvt Ltd and Merit Multicare Medical Center in Sinamangal. They used to give fake RT-PCR report without examining the swab of the persons going for foreign employment.

Police raided the place on the basis of information that the government of Nepal was charging more than the stipulated amount for swab test and giving fake RT-PCR report within an hour or two without even taking a swab sample.

Police also found some fake RT-PCR reports during the raid. Among the arrested are Surya Health Pvt Ltd Management Chief Khila Nanda Prasad Singh and eight others.

Police have also seized materials from the Surya Health Lab. Meanwhile, the agent of Merit Multicare Medical Center has been charging customers Rs.9,000 for the PCR test.
