Kathmandu, Jan 16: Nepal Police Club has clinched the title of the Jay Trophy Elite Cup. The team defeated Tribhuvan Army by 28 runs in the final to secure the championship.
Chasing a target of modest 103 runs, the Army team was restricted to just 74 runs in 29.2 overs. None of the Army batters could establish themselves at the crease during the fourth innings.
Opener Imran Sheikh scored the highest with 28 runs, while captain Binod Bhandari and Sompal Kami contributed 11 runs each. No other batter managed to reach double figures.
The victory for the Police Club was powered by an outstanding bowling performance from the spin duo of Sagar Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi. Sagar took 6 wickets, while Lalit claimed 4 wickets, dismantling the Army’s batting lineup. #jyatrophy #nepal #cricket
