Nepal records 2,714 new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country has reported 2,714 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed from 9,122 PCR tests and 3,707 Antigen tests conducted in various laboratories across the country.

Similarly, 1,288 COVID-19 patients recovered from the flu-like infection in a day, taking the total recovery to 637,690 till date.

The recovery percentage stands at 94.5 per cent.

Likewise, 24 people succumbed to the deadly infection in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said in its routine press briefing. The COVID-19 fatality caseload reaches 9,611 as of now.

There are 27,375 active cases currently in the country. Among them 24,616 are availing treatment in home-isolation, 2,759 are being treated in institutional isolation facilities across the country.

A total of 635 COVID-19 patients were being treated in ICU facility while 172 were with ventilator support, the Ministry said.

Kathmandu Valley currently has 7,912 active cases reported from all Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.
