Kathmandu, Sept 1: The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), government’s telecom regulatory body, has renewed Ncell Axiata’s license for five more years. The NTA has also endorsed the payment installments of Rs. 5 billion each year.
According to Santosh Paudel, Director and Spokesperson of NTA, Ncell has been granted a license renewal letter to pay Rs 5 billion annually.
“Ncell have to pay license renewal fee in four installments, however it has already paid Rs 5 billion. Now, Ncell is required to pay the remaining Rs 15 billion in three installments, along with a 10 percent interest on the outstanding amount.”
The authority’s board meeting on Sunday decided to renew Ncell’s license after initially rejecting their request for an installment facility. Following a government cabinet meeting last Thursday, the authority was instructed to allow Ncell to pay the fee in four installments.
The Council of Ministers decided on the installment plan and the 10 percent interest charge on later payments.
The NTA has already issued license to the state-owned Nepal Telecom based on installment provisions. #Ncell #Axiata #license #NTA
