Kathmandu, Nov 29: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held bilateral talks today in Chengdu, China.
Dr. Rana traveled to China on Thursday as part of preparations for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to China and at the friendly invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of Nepal-China relations, mutual interests, and common concerns, as well as the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Oli and potential cooperation agreements between the two countries on that occasion.
In the talks, Dr. Rana extended an invitation to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Nepal.
Dr. Rana also conveyed congratulations through Minister Wang on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and next year’s 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.
She highlighted the significant achievements in Nepal-China relations in recent times, which have strengthened bilateral ties. She also expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for announcing the removal of visa fees for Nepali citizens visiting China.
Furthermore, Dr. Rana noted that all traditional border checkpoints between Nepal and China have resumed regular operations, facilitating the unhindered movement of citizens, goods, and services. She expressed confidence that both sides would contribute significantly to further enhancing and streamlining these activities.
She emphasized that recent high-level exchanges between Nepal and China have strengthened the friendly and close relationship between the two countries, giving it new momentum.
The talks also included discussions on agreements and cooperation projects expected to be finalized during Prime Minister Oli’s upcoming visit to China. #nepal #china #arzu
