Nepali Congress action against 74 leaders and cadres

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has taken action against 74 leaders and cadres including central member Dinesh Koirala. The Congress has taken action against those who filed nominations against the party’s official candidate and the candidate supported by the party in the upcoming House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.

Former MP Amresh Kumar Singh, former chair of Congress Parsa Ajay Kumar Dwivedi, former chair of Congress Bajhang Harkjung Bahadur Singh, former regional chair of Sindhupalchok Badri Chaulagain, former minister of state Rajendra Bahadur Shah, former central member of Congress Hemraj Tated, former MP Mahadev Gurung and are among those who will face action.

Congress Central Disciplinary Committee Coordinator Anand Prasad Dhungana shared that all of them have been punished as per Section 4 (a) of Article 34 of the Statute of the Party 2017 (with amendments) and disqualified from membership for five years. He said that the names of Congress rebels, proponents and supporters and candidates who joined other parties will be removed from the party records.
