Nepali Congress approved the agreement to form a parliamentary inquiry committee

Kathmandu, May 28: The main opposition party Nepali Congress has approved the agreement to form a parliamentary inquiry committee on misappropriation of cooperative funds.

The agreement was approved by the party’s parliamentary party meeting held at the Lhotse Hall in the Parliament Building on Tuesday.

Talking to the media persons after the meeting, the chief whip Ramesh Lekhak said that Nepali Congress decided to approve the agreement reached on Monday. He informed that in the meeting of the House at 4 o’clock, the agreement with the mandate will be passed by the House. The Congress said that it would give names for the committee by 3 pm.

He said, “There were different opinions about the formation of the committee. Yesterday, the main political parties in the Federal Parliament agreed to form a parliamentary inquiry committee. The mandate was also agreed upon. It was also agreed on how many members the committee will be and how long it will last. We have called that agreement a result-oriented agreement. On our behalf, we will provide the names of valid members sitting in the committee to the secretariat of the parliament by 3 o’clock.”

He said that special emphasis should be placed on proper evaluation and monitoring of legal and institutional matters regarding the cooperative as a whole.

However, he didn’t mention about the name of Rabi Lamichhane.
