Kathmandu: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has decided not to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives.
The NC had been obstructing the House, blaming that charge sheet against NC Vice-President Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar was filed on the basis of political prejudice.
NC lawmaker, Dilendra Prasad Badu, told media persons that a meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party held today took the decision in this regard.
Leader Badu said that the meeting concluded that the case was filed against Gachchhadar at the Special Court out of political prejudice against him, making the impartiality and independency of existing laws and constitutional body weak.
He added that the NC would put forth its view in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives and help run the business.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on January 5 filed case against 175 people including Gachchhadar at Special Court on Lalita Niwas Land grab scandal.
