Nepali Congress district presidents suggest to forge consensus



Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) district presidents have suggested the party central leadership to correct recent decisions taken by central committee on majority basis and urged all leaders to move ahead forging consensus among them.

At the consultation meeting with district presidents called by senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel faction, they recommended the party central leadership to work together for the preparation of upcoming 14th general convention.

Also, the district presidents have stressed the need for the party to move ahead in unison when democracy is reeling under difficult situation.

Party central leaders should shun their malicious behaviours and show up in unison to cut through current crisis, the presidents attending the gathering suggested.

Poudel-led faction, which remained disgruntled after the establishment side unilaterally took decisions on majority basis, called the gathering of district presidents to collect their recommendations.

In today’s session, party central leaders, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Arjun Narsingh KC, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Dr Shekhar Koirala aired their views about present situation of the party.

They highlighted the need to follow the decisions passed by Mahasamiti meeting, reverse the suspended clauses of the party statute and correct the decisions made on majority basis, shared NC Nuwakot district president Jagadish Narsingh KC.

The meeting was attended by 41 district presidents and representatives from two district presidents close to Poudel faction.
