Nepali Congress President Deuba calls for consensus culture



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the people concerned to promote the culture of a consensus while electing party office-bearers in view of the upcoming 14th General Convention.

In his address to the inaugural ceremony of Devangunj rural municipality office in Sunsari today, the party President requested for the nominations of party office-bearers including the district, central representatives, and Province chair through consensus as far as possible.

“If not possible, go for a fair election as per the democratic process.”

He took time to say that election within the party should be taken easily. On a different note, he vowed to do his best for addressing issues in the area.

He said he was committed to promoting health, irrigation, agriculture, and development sectors in Devangunj.

Province 1 Chief Parshuram Khapung, former Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, NC Province 1 parliamentary party leader Rajiv Koirala, former minister of state Sitaram Mehata, Sunsari’s Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav and Police Chief Sanjay Singh Thapa were present on the occasion.
