KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress youth leader Navindra Raj Joshi has passed away.

Joshi, who was undergoing treatment for a stroke at Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu, died at 8:24 pm on Friday, said Somnath Bastola, Public Relations Officer at Norvic Hospital.

“Even his heart had stopped working since Friday morning. He died while continuing treatment,” Senior Neuro-Surgeon of Norvic Hospital Dr Rajiv Jha said.

Joshi was taken to Bir Hospital on February 26 after he was diagnosed with health problems at home. However, Bir Hospital had referred him to Norvic.

The hospital had been treating him with the help of a ventilator since the beginning of his stroke. Congress central member Joshi is also a former minister and former MP. He was remembered as a clean politician, dedicated to democracy and attached to local people.
