KATHMANDU: The Nepal Festival is being held next week for this year. It was however postponed last year owing to the COVID-19.

Tamudhi UK, a charity having numerous Nepalis as its members, is organizing the festival with the collaboration and financial assistance of Nepali Embassy in London.

The charity informed that the festival was aimed at protecting and promoting Nepali culture, art and identity. Nepali costumes and pageants would be displayed during the event.

Nepali Ambassador to the UK, Lok Darshan Regmi, is scheduled to inaugurate the festival where the diplomatic representatives from SAARC countries in the UK were invited.

Although the UK lifted lockdown since August 19, the government here has urged the Tamudhi to conduct the event by maintaining health protocol compulsorily- social distancing and use of mask.

There will be stalls of Nepali foods and goods in addition to cultural pageants. Even the information on Nepal’s tourism would be shared on the occasion, said the Nepali Embassy.
