NEPSE Index at highest of all highs

KATHMANDU: The last trading day of the year 2020 had concluded last week with the highest index-close in NEPSE’s history. Two days after that remarkable day, the NEPSE index has welcomed the year 2021 with an even impressive feat.

The NEPSE index gained 88.12 points today and closed at 2,175.39. This is the highest point NEPSE has ever touched since its establishment.

Furthermore, the index has successfully broken away from the long-maintained resistance zone at 2,100 levels. It is safe to say that chart readers and technical analysts are excited at this incredible feat.

The index opened at 2,104.85 and did not trade at anything lower than that. The index then gained aggressively throughout the day, ultimately closing at the intraday high (which is also NEPSE’s highest index reading ever).

14,026,886 shares traded hands via 54,698 transactions. Trading of 212 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 6.34 Arba. While the float index gained 5.82 points and closed at 147.74, the Sensitive index is at 415.88 after gaining 17.18 points.
