KATHMANDU: The stock market has declined on Monday, the second day of the week. The share market, which had increased by 63 points on Sunday, has declined by 24 points on Monday.
The NEPSE index, a measure of share turnover, has dropped to 2,514.39 points. Though the transaction amount was Rs 6.45 billion on Sunday, the transaction amount was stopped at Rs 5.35 billion on Monday.
All groups except hotels, tourism and hydropower traded on NEPSE have declined. These two groups, hotels, grew by 3.47 percent and hydropower by 4.79 percent. Investors in Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower have earned the most in hydropower sector, while investors in Chandragiri Hills Limited earned the most.
Chandragiri, which has been trading at a positive circuit level for the past few days, also rose by 9.99 percent or Rs 143 to Rs 1,563 on Monday.
