KATHMANDU: The NEPSE index, which measures the share turnover that declined by 45 points on Monday, has also declined by double digits on Tuesday. The NEPSE index has dropped by 11.68 percent to 2771.15 points.
The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading activity of Class A companies, also declined by 3.69 points. The share trading amount has also slowed down along with the NEPSE index on Tuesday.
The historical record was set at Rs 17 billion on Sunday and Rs 13 billion on Monday. Even Rs 9 billion could not be traded on Tuesday.
A total of 197,83,354 shares of 216 companies have been traded in 98,607 transactions during the day. The transaction amount has been stopped at Rs 8.59 billion.
On Tuesday, the group sub-index of development banks and finance companies increased while the rest of the sub-indices declined. Shares of hydropower companies topped the list of losers as on Monday.
