NEPSE index falls by 33 points today, continue to fall since budget

KATHMANDU: After the budget for the coming fiscal year was made public, the share which had been continuously declining, also declined today. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the trading volume Index fell by 33.76 points to close at 2,078.70.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which measures the trading volume of large companies, declined by 7.18 points to 403.48. A total of 3,848,508 shares of 226 companies were traded.

Shares of 13 subgroups traded lower. Banking 24.7, Trade 44.84, Hotel and Tourism 23.5, Development Bank 56.68, Hydropower 31.93, Finance 21.21, Non-Life Insurance 167.15, Production 88.87, Other 12.59. Microfinance has risen by 62.82 points, life insurance by 236.65 points, collective investment fund by 0.26 points and investment by 1.32 points.

The decline in the NEPSE index has not stopped the market capitalization. After Friday’s trading, the market capitalization stood at Rs. 2959.48 billion.
