NEPSE index reached its highest point, turnover over NRs 17 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepali stock market index NEPSE has reached its highest point so far on Sunday, the first day of trading day of the week. On Sunday, NEPSE index has stopped at 2906.91 points.

The market has gained by 50.14 points on Sunday. The banking index led the market boom on Sunday.

Even on the day of the 50-point gain, the prices of a total of six groups have declined. Today, the indices of banks, development banks, microfinance, finance, investments, mutual funds and other groups have gained. However, the indices of trade, non-life insurance, hydropower, hotel and tourism, construction and manufacturing and life insurance groups declined.

A total of 171,060 transactions of 218 companies were transacted on Sunday. The number of shares traded was 37,455,189. The total transaction amount on Sunday has reached NRs. 17.27 billion.

Today, Women Microfinance investors have earned most. Besides, the business of Goodwill Finance, Lumbini Development Bank, Reedy Hydropower Development Company and Nepal Bangladesh Bank traded at circuit level.

Investors of Radhi Power Company lost the most. Apart from this, the prices of Divyeshwori Hydro, Narayani Development Bank, Ankhukhola Hydropower Company and Union Hydropower remained the biggest losers.
