KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index lost 18.07 points on Monday and closed at 2,389.19.
The index opened at 2,418.51 and immediately made an intraday low at 2,380.16. The index lost in intraday action today but made the intraday high at 2,432.17 nonetheless. With this, total volatility of 52.01 points was observed in the trading session today.
According to NEPSE, 9,604,529 shares traded hands via 52,309 transactions. The trading of 212 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 4.24 billion.
While the float index lost 1.2 points and closed at 164.57, the Sensitive index is at 430.05 after losing 5.07 points.
Nepal Infrastructure Bank has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 43.62 crores. Its shares also traded the most.
The three highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today.
Meanwhile, Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL) lost the most 6.25%.
Five sectors gained today and eight others closed red. While the “Hotels and Tourism” sector gained the most 3.69%, the “Others” sector lost the most 2%.
