NEPSE loses 21.58 points on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index lost 21.58 points on Sunday and closed at 2,485.09.

The index opened at 2,519.96 and briefly made an intraday high at 2,525.30. The index lost in intraday action today, going as low as 2,473.57. With this, total volatility of 51.73 points was observed in the trading session today.

According to NEPSE, 11,778,820 shares traded hands via 53,970 transactions. The trading of 211 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 5 billion.

While the float index lost 1.38 points and closed at 171.40, the Sensitive index is at 449.68 after losing 1.78 points.

Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 42.78 crores. The units of NMB50 traded the most.

The top 3 highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today.

Meanwhile, National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) lost the most 5.52%.

Only the “Hydropower” and “Hotels and Tourism” sector gained today, with “Hotels and Tourism” gaining the most 2.24%. Among all other sectors that lost, “Trading” lost the most 4.68%.
