KATHMANDU: The NEPSE index opened at 2,490.53 Wednesday, already 16.8 points higher than the all-time high created on Tuesday. It then went on to make the intraday high at 2,519.85 which is the highest point NEPSE has ever reached.
However, the overall trend for the rest of the day was downwards, and the index went as low as 2,457.99. It then finally closed at 2,466.92, which is 6.81 points lower than the all-time high closing created yesterday.
According to sharesansar.com, 22,040,516 shares traded hands via 91,559 transactions. The trading of 202 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 9.53 Arba. While the float index lost 0.29 points and closed at 167.55, the Sensitive index is at 452.29 after gaining 0.92 points.
Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 56.19 crores. The units of NMB50 traded the most.
The top four highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today. Meanwhile, Pokhara Finance Limited (PFL) lost the most 7.88%.
Four sectors gained today while the rest of the sectors closed red. While Hydropower gained the most 1.04%, Trading lost the most 2.21%.
