New 1,954 cases of Coronavirus confirmed

Kathmandu: A total of 1,945 new COVID-19 cases including 843 cases in the Kathmandu Valley have been added across the country in the past 24 hour.

The number of the death tolls from the virus has been 11. With this, the death toll from the infection has hit 887.

The new infection cases were from a total of 8,248 PCR tests carried out in various laboratories in the country.

Likewise, the number of active cases has been 39,643, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population at a regular press conference here on Wednesday.

Kathmandu district recorded 696 new cases, Lalitpur 118 and Bhaktapur 29. So far 121,824 infected people have been free of the virus.

Of the COVID-19 infected people, 290 are undergoing treatment at ICUs and 72 are on ventilator support, said Dr Gautam.

Likewise, 7,709 infected people are in institutional isolation and 31,934 at home-based isolation.

Two thousand 889 suspected people are at quarantine facility in the country.
