New ministers from CPN-US sworn in today

KATHMANDU: The new ministers recommended by the CPN (Unified Socialist) are taking oath today.

Newly recommended ministers Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Metmani Chaudhary, Sher Bahadur Kunwar and Hira KC will be sworn in today.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) had decided to recall Minister for Health and Population  Birodh Khatiwada, Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhankri, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale and Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Kisan Shrestha from the present cabinet.

According to the party’s recommendation, Shrestha will be given the ministry of tourism, Chaudhary the ministry of urban development, Kunwar the ministry of labor employment and Hira KC the ministry of health. Minister of State for Health Bhavani Khapung will be promoted to Minister of Health.

A meeting of the secretariat of the CPN (US) held on Sunday decided to change the minister. Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has already handed over the name of the new minister to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Ministers will be sworn in by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Presidential Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Meanwhile, some of the ministers have shown anger and dissatisfaction over the decision of the party.
