Udayapur, Aug 29: A new mother of 42 days at Rautamai rural municipality in Udayapur district has lost her life to dengue infection on Tuesday.
Sumitra Magar, 24, of Sikhar Gaun in the locality died of the infection, according to Rautamai rural municipality. Birendra Magar, Chairperson the rural municipality shared that Sumitra was admitted to the District Hospital at Gaighat after she got infected with the viral infection.
She was being treated at Neuro Hospital after the District Hospital referred her to other health facility. She died during the treatment, confirmed Chairperson Magar adding that her child was, however, healthy.
The final rites of the deceased were performed on Tuesday itself, according to Magar.
Over 1,000 cases of dengue have been reported in the district so far with two deaths from the mosquito-borne infection, according to the District Health Office, Udayapur. RSS
