Nine persons succumb to COVID-19 in Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi

NEPALGUNJ: Five new fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Banke district on Sunday night and this morning.

Three Covid-19 patients being treated at Bheri Hospital at Nepalgunj and two undergoing treatment at Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur have died due to coronavirus infection, confirmed Covid-19 crisis management centre, Banke.

Focal person of the Centre Tej Oli shared that the deceased were 51-year-old male from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan city-3, 66-year-old man from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan city-1 and 47-year-old male from Badhaiyataal rural municipality-8 in Bardia district.

Likewise, 48-year-old male from Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-5 and 60-year-old female from Baijanath Rural municipality-8 have lost their lives to deadly infection.

With this the number of people, originally from Banke district, died due to Covid-19 has reach 133 while 122 people from other places availing treatment in Banke district succumbed to the infection, said Oli. –

Meanwhile, four more COVID-19 infected died in the Dhangadhi-based Seti Provincial Hospital in the past 12 hours. A 38-year-old male of Lamkichuha municipality-1, Kailali and a 35-year-old woman from Lamkichuha-10 died early this morning, according to District Administration Office Kailali’s information officer Shiba Raj Joshi.

Similarly, a 43-year-old male of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis-2 and a 62-year-old male from Bhimdutta municipality-7, Kanchanpur passed away this morning amidst the treatment.

Meanwhile, Makwanpur reported the death of an infected at the Hetauda Hospital last night. A 55-year-old male from Heatauda-1 who was on the ventilator support died at 9:00 pm, said Hospital Chief Dr Prabin Shrestha. He was confirmed to have contracted the virus yesterday.

With this, the death tally from the virus in the district has reached 34. On Sunday, 211 were tested positive to the virus in the district that serves as the capital of Bagmati Province.
