Not to supply labourers from unlicensed company



Kathmandu, March 21: The Department of Labour and Occupational Safety has issued a notice in the name of all concerned institutions not to supply labourers from the unlicensed labor supplier companies.

The Department has drawn the attention of the institutions acting on the complaints that government agencies, public institutions and private sector enterprises are supplying workers illegally from the labor supplier companies that have not obtained license.

Labor supplier companies have been supplying construction workers and domestic workers, including security, sanitation and waste, floriculture management, office assistants, canteen and catering workers, driver load, conductor, transportation and storage management of unloaded goods, maintenance, technical support and consultancy, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, carpenters and domestic workers.

Organizing a press conference here today, the Department under the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security urged not to do any kind of work against the Labor Act.Director General of the Department, Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, issued a notice regarding six different legal provisions related to labour administration for good labour practices.

Among the provisions were the implementation of minimum wage, labor audit, prevention of child labour, contribution to social security fund, occupational safety and health practices and management implementation.

The department has been playing its role as the focal agency to ensure decent labour practices”, he said, urging all stakeholders to create an environment of decent and proper labour practice in the institutions.#nepal #supply labourers #rss
