The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has reduced the ceiling on internal remittances. The central bank has reduced the remittance limit with effect from today.
The central issued a notice today regarding the transfer of remittances to the sub-agencies and agents of remittance companies, reducing the limit to Rs. 25,000 per transaction per person.
Earlier, the maximum limit for such internal remittance transactions was up to one hundred thousand rupees.
The central bank has stated that no change has been made in the limit of cash remittances sent from abroad to concerned persons or relatives in Nepal.
