KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bannk of Nepal, has stated that 54 percent of the country’s industries and businesses are now fully operational.
Compared to the prior survey, the production-turnover situation, which was only 28.77 percent on last July, has reached 50.51 percent at the end of the latest survey. While the employment situation has also improved from 77.50 percent to 87.51 percent, the bank said.
The bank has made public the report of the first recurrence survey on the impact of COVID-19 on the economy today. The recurrence survey has shown that the operating condition of industry and business and production and business transactions have improved as compared to the survey conducted in July, 2020.
However, the bank has stated that industries / businesses could not operate in the condition of prior Covid-19.
Still, 9.1 percent of the industries / businesses do not appear to be operational.
