Kathmandu: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has handed over 10,000 antigens received from Japan to the Ministry of Health and Population on Friday.
NRNA Vice President Dr Badri KC handed over the antigen worth around Rs 10 million to Minister of State for Health Nawaraj Rawat. The antigen is used for testing samples of COVID-19.
Addressing a program organized at the Ministry of Health, Minister of State Nawaraj Rawat said that the expatriate Nepalis have made a great contribution in the fight against COVID-19.
Vice President of NRNA Dr. KC said that Nepalis living abroad have been providing health-related materials since the beginning of the global corona infection.
Earlier, the association handed over health items to the Government of Nepal on Kapil Dev Thapa’s initiative, said Chiran Sharma, press coordinator of the NRNA Covid-19 High Level Committee.
NRNA had handed over Rs. 20 million worth of health items to the Government of Nepal since the beginning of the covid epidemic. In the first phase, the organization mobilized around 2,500 volunteers in more than 50 countries around the world to help Nepalis suffering from covid.
A high-level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Kumar Pant, President of NRNA, to fight against covid.
