NRNA welcomes Nepali cricket team, USA wins the opening match



Kathmandu, June 2: The National Coordination Council of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has welcomed the Nepali cricket team in the Texas, USA . The Nepali team is in USA to participate in the ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup.

On that occasion, Senior Vice President of Non-Resident Nepali Association Bikas Upreti, Vice President Bhanu Kharel, President of Nepal Cricket Association Chatur Bahadur Chanda, Captain of Nepali Cricket Team Rohit Paudel gave a brief speech.

The tournament, which started today at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas, will last for a month. USA and West Indies have jointly organized the ICC tournament.

In today’s first opening match, USA team has defeated Canada by seven wickets with 14-balls remaining. Aaron Jones of USA top scored with 94 not out runs. He hit 10 sixes and 4 fours. Likewise, Andries Gous scored 65 runs.

Earlier, after winning the toss, United States invited Canada to bat first. They managed to score 194 runs with the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

In group A, along with USA and Canada, India, Ireland and Pakistan will be contesting for second stage.
