Kathmandu, Aug 22: The Pasang Lhamu Highway which has been obstructed since Wednesday morning has reopened.

The vehicular movement was thrown out of gear after a loaded container met with an accident and turned over on the road.

Arjuun Bhandari, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, informed it took a whole day to remove the container off the road with the help of excavator and reopen the obstructed highway.

He further shared the highway has come to full operation since Wednesday evening.

According to the District Traffic Police Office, the container (Na 2 Kha 3816) carrying ready made goods from Kerung had met with the accident at Gosainkunda rural municipality-5 in the mid part of the road after its brakes were failed.

Dozens of vehicles stranded on the road after the obstruction had already moved to their destinations, the Traffic Office informed.

Massive security mobilization was carried out to resume the highway operation, said Bhagyendra Purush Dahakal, District Police Chief.
