Kathmandu, April 26: Oman has entered semi-final by defeating Saudi Arabia in today’s group-stage match held under ACC Premier League Cricket Championship.
During a match held at the Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Oman has become the second team entering into semi-final from the Group ‘A’.
Oman had won today’s match with 72 runs. Nepal has already entered semi-final from this group. With today’s victory, Oman set its journey to semi-final securing six points.
In today’s match, Oman had set a target of 367 runs. In response, Saudi Arabia gathered 294 runs losing all wickets in 46.5 overs.
Saudi Arabia’s Abdul Waheed made 95 runs, Saad Khan 78 runs, Muhammad Hisham Sheikh 36, Abdul Wahid 25, Atif-Ur-Rehman 16 and Imran Arif 10 runs, respectively.
Similarly, Oman’s players—Bilal Khan took four wickets, Jay Odedra three wickets, Zeeshan Maqsood two wickets and Ayaan Khan one wicket.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Oman made 366 runs at the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Oman’s Jatinder Singh stroke the highest 88 runs while Mohammad made Nadeem 71 runs, Shoaib Khan 68 runs and Kashyap Prajapati 51 runs.
Likewise, Saudi Arabia’s Atif-Ur-Rehman took three wickets while Abdul Wahid two wickets.
Nepal would take on Qatar in the final match of the group against Qatar at TU Ground at 9:00 am, Thursday.
