One injured in police encounter in capital city

            Kathmandu, Sept 13: A person involved in vandalism was injured when Nepal Police opened fire at him in an encounter at Goldhunga of Tarakeshwor municipality in Kathmandu this evening.

            A team of police deployed by the Metropolitan Crime Division shot Sajan Gurung who was on the run from police.

            Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sahakul Thapa informed that police nabbed Gurung from Phulbari restaurant at Goldhunga, opening fire at him in retaliation with Gurung’s attack on police.

            Injured Gurung has been receiving treatment at Bir Hospital, police said. Police shot him at feet. Gurung, who hails from Dhading district, had involved in vandalism long ago, police claimed.

            Even a set of homemade pistol is seized from him.
