One thousand eight hundred chicks killed in fire

Bhaktapur, Feb 13: 1,800 boilers chicks have been killed due to incident of fire in the poultry farm in Bhaktapur on Monday.

Prajit KC, Superintendent of Police of Bhaktapur informed that a fire broke out in a poultry farm run by 43-year-old Bina Gurung of Kathmandu Koteshwar. She has rented land from local Dhruv Dahal at Changunarayan Municipality-3 Jhowkhel Jagriti Chowk in Bhaktapur.

He said that the police investigation revealed that the gas cylinder, which was lit to warm the chickens, leaked and suddenly caught fire. He informed that two firefighter of Bhaktapur and a team of 30 members of Nepal Police have brought the farm fire under control.
