Kathmandu, March 5: Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has approved the proposal seeking endorsement on the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081 BS’ by majority.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, presented the proposal at the lower house. On the occasion, Minister Gurung justified that the government has introduced the ordinance with amendments to promote good governance and make public services effective.
Responding to the queries raised while presenting the notice rejecting the ordinance, he said the ordinance was indispensable to make the public service effective while promoting good governance. Minister Gurung clarified that the ordinance had to be brought as it was necessary to take the country to the pace of economic development by promoting good governance.
The process of amending the Act has been forwarded to ease Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs)’s movement to Nepal and bring in their investment, knowledge and capital, Minister Gurung argued. “The amendments made to promote good governance in line with the concept of e-governance, good governance and ICT practice are appropriate to provide public services to the general public in an effective and efficient manner without hassles”, Gurung added,
The ordinance, he claimed, has been brought to amend the existing Act to ensure effective services to the citizens by facilitating health insurance.
Noting that the government has not undertaken any illegal work, he clarified the ordinance was brought using the constitutionally-bestowed authority. He urged the lawmakers to endorse the ordinance unanimously to serve the interest of the country and its people.#nepal #political #rss
