Over 4,000 granted citizenship certificates in Jumla



Jumla, Oct 24: In the past year, more than 4,000 individuals have received Nepali citizenship certificates in Jumla district. According to Hemant Pulami, a computer operator at the District Administration Office, a total of 4,162 citizenship certificates were distributed during the last fiscal year 2080/81BS.

As of the end of Ashwin in the current fiscal year, over 1,800 individuals have already acquired citizenship, Pulami noted. He stated, “From the beginning of this fiscal year until the end of Ashwin, we have issued citizenship certificates to 863 individuals, including 16 who received certificates for minors.” During this period, 331 individuals applied for passports, and 1,229 obtained national identity cards.

Increase in applications for passport

The number of individuals applying for passports in the district has been increasing recently. According to the District Administration Office, from the fiscal year 2077/78 until the end of Ashwin 2081/82BS, a total of 3,756 passports have been issued from the district.

Most applicants are seeking passports for foreign employment, while others, including government employees and high-ranking officials, apply for international travel, as noted by Nar Bahadur Budha, a junior officer at the passport section.

A total of 632 individuals have acquired passports in the current fiscal year 2081/82 up to the end of Ashwin. Among them, 157 are women and 475 are men. In the fiscal year 2080/81, 783 passports were issued, comprising 142 women and 641 men. #jumla #passport #citizenship #rss
