Pakistan Celebrates Nepal’s Young Achievers with 200+ Scholarships

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal honored more than 200 outstanding Nepali students at the 14th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Ceremony held at Aloft Hotel, Kathmandu.

The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and distinguished representatives from Nepal’s education and media sectors. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H. Hashmi, attended as Chief Guest and personally awarded scholarships to deserving Higher Secondary School students selected by their respective schools on the basis of merit and financial need.

Marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan, the ceremony also featured a special recognition for Ms. Prapti Lamsal from Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus, who received a laptop as the top performer among this year’s scholarship recipients.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for Nepal’s education sector, describing the initiative as “not just a scholarship ceremony, but a celebration of Nepal’s future.” He encouraged students to strengthen skills in STEM, health, biosciences, innovation, diplomacy, financial literacy, and critical thinking to prepare for future leadership roles.

Ambassador Hashmi highlighted that Pakistan’s educational assistance extends across multiple levels, including scholarships for primary and higher secondary students in Nepal, tertiary education opportunities in Pakistan, and institutional support for Nepali schools in IT, sports, liberal arts, and STEM education.

Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program has grown into one of the most recognized foreign scholarship initiatives in Nepal, supporting thousands of students in their pursuit of academic excellence. #nepal
