Kathmandu, Oct 6: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said cooperation and collaboration between government and private sector is essential to address unemployment problem in Nepal.
Addressing an interaction organized by Nepal Training and Employment Entrepreneurs’ Federation here Thursday, Minister Mahat viewed professional and skill-based trainings should be provided based on market need. Only demand based training can create jobs and contribute to national economy, he argued.
He stressed that Federation could produce competent workers in the wake of exodus of Nepalis to foreign land for employment. It is worrying that country has shortage of both competent human resources and employment opportunities. Minister Mahat commented that although many institutions including Labour Department, Department of Foreign Employment and private sectors were providing trainings, they were yet to be result-oriented.
On the occasion, Federation Chairman Achyut Nepal informed that Federation was providing skill-based training with the partnership of government so that gap between demand and supply sides of human resources could be fulfilled.
