Party unification in final stage: Prachanda

            Kathmandu, Sept 6: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said the party unification process had reached final stage.

Handing over the responsibility of party’s foreign affairs department amidst a programme on Thursday, Chairman Dahal reminded that although the party unification was delayed, the upcoming meeting of the party would finalize it.

            On the occasion, then chief of foreign affairs department of then CPN Maoist (Centre) Narayan Kaji Shrestha handed over his post to new chief of the department, Madhav Kumar Nepal.

            Chairman Dahal viewed that questions were raised on republic because some issues of the party unification were yet to be finalized. “After party unification, we will launch nationwide campaign for party policy, programme, plans and orientation,” he said, adding the communist movement arrived here facing several challenges.

            The Chairman pointed out the need of making government effective and strengthening party organizations across the country. “The reactionary forces are rearing their heads, taking advantage of our mistakes,” he made party aware.

            He further warned that if the party failed to meet people’s expectations and work to materialize prosperity and maintain nationality, it would pose serious challenges before us. He also expressed confidence that the foreign affairs department would be further strengthened with the able leadership of leader Nepal.

            Similarly, department chief Nepal said he would work for the national interest by strengthening party and country’s international relations.

            The party’s foreign affairs would be handled in line with country’s foreign policy, he added, saying brotherly relations with communist parties were also essential.

            On the occasion, Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the remaining tasks of party unification would be completed after Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Sharma Oli returns home.
