Kathmandu, Feb 24: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has formed a main ceremonial committee and subcommittees to ensure a well-organized celebration of the Maha Shivaratri festival at the Pashupatinath Temple.

During a press conference on Monday, PADT officials shared details of their preparations. Additionally, a special sanitation campaign has been launched from Fagun 12 to 16 to maintain cleanliness in the Pashupati area.

Speaking at the event, Khatri said, “On Fagun 14, 2081BS, millions of devotees, sages, and saints are expected to visit the Pashupatinath Temple for the grand festival. Considering this massive influx, the PADT has taken extensive measures to ensure security, health compliance, and a smooth darshan experience.”

PADT has also prohibited the storage, sale, and transportation of meat, alcohol, cannabis, and bhang within the temple premises. Local residents will be allowed free movement in the area through identification passes issued by the local ward offices and PADT.
