Kathmandu : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed grief over the passing of the Bangmaya Shatabdi Purush, Satya Mohan Joshi. He died at the age of 103 while undergoing treatment at KIST Medical College, Gwarko, Lalitpur this morning.
PM Deuba took to his twitter account to express his profound sorrow over the centenarian scholar’s demise. “I am deeply grieved by Joshi’s death. I pray for eternal peace of the departed soul and express my condolences to the grief-stricken family members,” the PM wrote in his twitter post.
Prime Minister Deuba has also stated that the State shall ever remember Joshi’s contribution in the field of Nepali culture.
Joshi’s demise, a loss to the nation: President Bhandari
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said the nation has lost its guardian with the demise of noted litterateur and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi.
Terming Joshi as a relentless contributor to the Nepali art, language and culture, the Head-of-the-State said she is saddened by the death of Joshi. His active and meaningful live was always an inspiration for all of us, the President said on twitter.
Joshi’s contribution will forever be remembered : Chairman Dahal
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the contribution of centenarian Satya Mohan Joshi to the enhancement of Nepali art, literature and language will forever be remembered. Issuing a message of condolence on the demise of three-time Madan prize winner Joshi today, the former Prime Minister said Joshi’s contribution will always be remembered.
In the message, he said the entire Nepali community is shocked by the news about the death of Joshi at the age of 103 this morning.
Describing him as the heritage of Nepali language, literature and culture, leader Dahal paid tributes to the departed soul, extending heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family. He expressed his hope that the government and Nepali people would always recognize Joshi’s role and contribution to the Nepali art, language and culture.
