PM KP Sharma Oli returns home after official visit to China



Kathmandu, Sept 4: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned home Wednesday night after completing his official visit to China and attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 and China Victory Parade on commemoration of victory of China against Japan.

PM Oli, who led a 23-member Nepali delegation, was welcomed at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport tonight by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh,  Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, among others.


High-ranking government officials, chiefs of security agencies, and representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal were also present. A Nepali Army contingent accorded a guard of honour to the Prime Minister.

Key highlights of PM Oli’s China Visit

  • Attended the SCO Summit in Tianjin on September 1, where he addressed the gathering.

  • Participated in the 80th anniversary celebration and special military parade in Beijing.

  • Held bilateral meetings with top global leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin.

PM Oli was accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Pant, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Pande, Nepali Congress Vice President and lawmaker Purna Bahadur Khadka, PM’s Economic Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, UML lawmaker Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai, and senior government officials.

Nepal has been a dialogue partner of the SCO since 2016, strengthening its engagement in regional cooperation and diplomacy. #nepal #china #parade
