PM-led delegation to participate in UNGA’s special sessions

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: A cabinet meeting has decided to form a 13-member delegation under the leadership of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to participate in the special sessions of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

At a news conference organised at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Sunday to make public the decisions of the cabinet meetings held on November 22 and 25, Communications Minister Parbat Gurung shared that a decision was taken to form the delegation to participate in the special sessions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic on December 3 and 4.

The government also decided to form talks team to participate in a virtual meeting of commerce secretary-level intergovernmental committee scheduled on December 7 as well as to participate in Nepal-India commerce joint-secretary intergovernmental sub-committee taking place on December 3 and 4.

Similarly, the government has taken a decision to collect data of those injured in People’s Movement, armed conflict and Tarai-Madhesh movement, and carry out their treatment for free at government hospitals.

The cabinet meeting also approved the National Tea and Coffee Development Board Staff Administration Regulations-2077, Social Security Fund Investment Work Procedures-2077 and Nepal Government (Work Execution Sixth Amendment) Regulations-2077.
