Kathmandu, July 29: The government has transferred 21 secretaries at once in major shake up in the administration. The new transfers seems politically biased.
The Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to assign the responsibility of the current Revenue Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire as the Finance Secretary, while Madhu Kumar Marasini, who was the Finance Secretary, was transferred to the Vice President’s office.
Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, who is currently the Secretary of Commerce in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, has been given the responsibility of Revenue Secretary.
Keshav Kumar Sharma has returned to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport as Secretary. He was currently in the Water and Energy Commission.
Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Gopal Prasad Sigdel has been transferred to the Secretary of Energy.
Ghanashyam Upadhyay, who is currently the secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, has been transferred to the Commission on Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Rameshwar Dangal, who is the secretary in the electricity authority, has been transferred to the Ministry of Defence.
Mukunda Prasad Niraula, who was secretary in the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, has been transferred to the Ministry of Labour.
Dilliram Sharma has been transferred from the President’s Office to the Public Service Commission. Rajkumar Shrestha, Secretary of the Public Service Commission, has been transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Ramakrishna Subedi, who was the secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, has been transferred to the public procurement monitoring office while Radhika Aryal, Secretary of the Vice President’s Office, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Communication.
Likewise, Bharatmani Subedi has been assigned at the Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration who was transferred from the Procurement Monitoring Office.
Gokarnamani Dawadi, Secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has been transferred to the National Statistics Office. Arjun Prasad Pokharel, secretary of the National Statistics Office, has been transferred to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
Kiran Raj Sharma has been transferred from Defense to Secretary in Natural Resources and Finance Commission. Madhusudan Burlakoti, who was the secretary of the Natural Resources and Finance Commission, has been transferred as Commerce Secretary.
Narayan Prasad Duwadi has been transferred to the office of the President, Ramaadhar Sah to the office of Nepal Trust, Pramila Devi Bajracharya to the Ministry of Water Supply and Suresh Acharya to the Water and Energy Commission.
