Myagdi, Feb 3: Five individuals, including the chief of the Myagdi District Coordination Committee (DCC) Mr Raj Kumar Thapa, have been arrested on charges of cooperative fraud.
According to the District Police Office, they were taken into custody for allegedly misappropriating depositors’ funds from Kumari Multipurpose Cooperative, located in Beni Municipality-8.
Among those arrested are Raj Kumar Thapa, the chief of the District Coordination Committee, along with former cooperative manager and board members – Man Prasad Thajali, Tham Bahadur Garbuja, Rudra Bahadur Gurung, and Devi Kumari Thapa.
Police has stated that the arrests were made following an investigation by the Cooperative Registrar’s Office in Pokhara, which found evidence of fund misappropriation. A report was then forwarded to the District Police Office, leading the District Court to issue arrest warrants. #nepal #cooperative
