Dang, Oct 18 : District Police Office, Dang, today made public the name of arrested leaders and cadres of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led group as well as arms, cash and other important documents seized from them.
Police had arrested 21 leaders and cadres of Chand-led group from Rajpur rural municipality-4 on Wednesday night.
Issuing a press release today, police said that 21 leaders and cadres including Mid-Western Command In-Charge of the party, Chandra Bahadur Chand (Birjung), Rapti Bureau In-Charge Batha Subas, central chairperson of Youth Association, Dipraj Serpali (Patan), Rolpa District In-charge Santosh Subedi (Prayas), and Dang District In-Charge Yamlal Katuwal (Bikram) have been arrested from a place where they were holding a meeting.
Police also seized six pistols, two magazines, nine rounds of bullet, an improvised exclusive device and Rs 384,530 from them, reads the press release.
Similarly, 37 mobile sets, four cheques of Global IME, 21 bags, 16 dairies, 13 books of different political philosophy, 30 letter pads used for soliciting donation, a stamp of the party were also impounded, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Binod Bikram Shah.
Police said that action has been forwarded against them by filing case of organised crime and sedition.
Biplab-led group’s four cadres arrested
Parbat : The District Police Office, Parbat, has arrested four cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplab)-led group whose activities have been banned.
Police arrested Kaski district secretary Janga Bahadur Bhandari, 41, of Gangadev Rural Municipality-2 in Rolpa district, CPN All Revolutionary’s central member Milan Rai, 26, of Bhojour Municipality-12, CPN All Revolutionary Kaski district Chairman Kaji Gurung, 27, of Sulkot Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha district and CPN well-wisher Mahendra Bhandari, 31, of Dhorpatan Municiplaity-6 in Baglung district.
Earlier, they were released on the bail of Rs 5,000 each after the District Court had ordered their release on October 15 on bail.
They were imprisoned for not being able to post a bail of Rs 5,000 each. Police had arrested them from their meeting on June 8 on the charge of treason.
Preparation was underway to send the arrested cadres to the District Police Office, Baglung, according to the Police Inspector Rajan Rayamajhi.
