UML’s grassroots campaign to deepen party-people relations: Gen Secy Pokharel

Kathmandu, Feb 21: General Secretary of CPN UML, Shankar Pokharel, has said that the party has launched a ‘grassroots campaign’ to deepen the relationship between the party and the people.

Inaugurating the party building orientation programme organized by UML Kaski chapter in Pokhara on Friday, Pokharel directed the party cadres to reach people’s door to materialize the campaign’s objective.

There is no difference over the idea of people’s multi-party democracy and leadership, he reminded, adding that the cadres should work in unity and contribute to the national ambition of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’.

Leader Pokharel further claimed that the coalition government would complete its course as per in line with the consensus of two major political parties: the Nepali Congress and the UML. Addressing the same event, UML Deputy General Secretary and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung underscored the need of establishing the party as a strong national force to lead the country.

He viewed that the current government was formed with the participation of major parties to ensure good governance and smooth service delivery, so the government was effortful for the same.

Similarly, Party Secretary Padma Aryal, standing committee member Khagraj Adhikari, and central committee member Krishna Thapa, among others addressed the programme.#nepal #Political #rss
