Kathmandu: An agreement has been reached to form next government under the leadership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre). This agreement was reached in a meeting held at the residence of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
“It was agreed to form the government under the leadership of Prachanda, the support of 166 MPs has been gathered,” said General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel.
It will be the third time Prachanda leading the government.
Chairman Prachanda, CPN UML Chairman Oli, RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and other leaders have reached to President Office, Sheetal Niwas.
The President Bhandari may announce Prachanda as the new Prime Minister of the country in accordance with the Constitution (Article 72(2)).
The CPN UML, the second largest party in the House of Representatives, has 78 MPs. 32 MPs from Maoist, 20 MPs from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), 14 MPs from RPP, 12 MPs from JSP, 6 MPs from Janamat Party and 4 MPs from Nagarik Unmukti Party make 166 MPs.
